PB Design design and manufacture industrial DC charging systems, typically battery tripping units (BTU), intertrippers, or DC telecoms backup for use within substations, either within the utilities network or within a plant room. The battery charger ensures the uninterrupted operation of essential electrical systems within the substation in the event of a power outage. The absence of an electrical supply can lead to equipment damage and potential harm to personnel. Therefore, DC charger systems are of the utmost importance in providing the necessary energy to control protection devices, enabling the safe isolation of electrical faults.
Based in Clevedon, North Somerset, England, our capabilities run from design through production, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance. We can supply either standard or custom-built products designed to meet customer or industry-specific needs. DC Chargers & Switch Trippers
Our battery charger systems and battery tripping units (BTU) are supplied with correctly sized batteries and configured in the factory as a complete system. Depending upon the application, we can offer standard-rated batteries or long-life batteries.
